David Raya looks to have decided his future at Brentford with Chelsea and Tottenham interested
David Raya’s future at Brentford continues to be up in the air with a new report handing Chelsea and Tottenham a major transfer boost. Both London clubs are in the hunt for a new shot-stopper and Raya’s consistent displays for the Bees have seen him become a wanted man across the capital.
The Spaniard has not been shy when it comes to discussing his future which included delivering a major contract update earlier this year. “I was offered a new contract last year and one in January, but we didn’t reach an agreement,” he added. “For now, a new contract is secondary. The most important thing is the team and the games. We’ll see where we are in May.”
The summer will prove to be an important moment for Raya as his contract expires at the Brentford Community Stadium in 2024. To avoid losing him on a free transfer, Brentford will likely want to know what his plans for the future are in order to either begin extension talks or plan for life without him.

He also adds that Brentford will demand €40million (£35.4m) to sanction a departure. Thomas Frank himself has discussed the future of his first-choice ‘keeper at length revealing his own thoughts on his valuation in early February.
“If he turns it down twice that’s a signal he doesn’t want that,” Frank said via Football Daily. “I thought we put two really good offers out there but that’s fine it’s a free world we can’t force anyone.

David Raya better make a wise decision
