Major Gabriel Jesus update as Arsenal stars spotted ahead of clash vs Newcastle United

Gabriel Jesus has been spotted with the Arsenal squad ahead of the side’s Premier League clash against Newcastle.

The striker has missed the last four games with a knee injury and didn’t make the trip to Porto for the midweek Champions League clash. Jesus hadn’t been spotted in training ahead of this weekend’s match vs Newcastle, putting doubt on his availability.

However, a video circulating on social media shows the player with the squad, hinting that he could make a return. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta was hopeful over his availability.

“Let’s see. We have another session today,” Arteta said on Thomas Partey who returned to training this week. “He’s been out for many, many months now. We need to really nail the timing of when he has enough in the tank to compete. But I think he’s very close.”

“Same with Gabi. He’s done a few things. And Alex [Zinchenko] is not far too.”

Should Jesus make his comeback against Newcastle, then his return would be a big boost for the Gunners. In his last game before the injury, the Brazilian scored and assisted in the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
